There is a good news for the people associated with the stock market. This week, there will be trading in the market only for 4 days instead of the usual 5. Next week too, there will be trading in the market for only 4 days instead of 5. Actually, this week the domestic stock markets will be closed on 11th April (Thursday) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. Apart from this, the stock market is also closed next week on 17th April (Wednesday). There will be no trading on Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) on both of these days.
Information about these holidays has already been given on the websites of both exchanges, i.e. NSE and BSE. According to the information given on the websites of the exchanges, all trading activities in the equity segment, equity derivative segment, and SLB segment will be closed in the stock market on these two days in April.
This month, the domestic stock market will be closed on April 11 (Thursday) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. There will be no trading in the equity segment, equity derivative segment, and SLB segment on both exchanges on this day. After this, the stock market will remain closed on 17th April (Wednesday), also on the occasion of Rama Navami. Since these two holidays are in different weeks, there will be 4 trading sessions instead of 5 in these two weeks. This information has also been given on the exchanges that there will be no work in the currency derivatives segment on April 11 and April 17.
According to the list of holidays in the stock market in the year 2024, on April 11, on the occasion of Holi, morning trading in the commodity and electronic gold receipt (EGR) segments, i.e. trading from 9 am to 5 pm, will be closed. But, trading will remain open for the evening session on MCX. Trading will continue in the commodity derivatives segment and electronic gold receipt (EGR) segment for the session from 5 pm to 9 am. Business will remain closed in the morning segment on 17th April on the occasion of Rama Navami.
Is the commodity market also closed?
Similarly, on both of these days i.e. 11th and 17th April, there will be no work on the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) in both the sessions i.e. morning and evening sessions.
When will the stock market be closed this year?
Apart from weekly holidays, domestic stock markets will remain closed for a total of 8 days after April in 2024. Stock markets will remain closed for 1 day each in May-June, July-August and October. Apart from this, the market will be closed for 2 days in the month of November. Whereas, the market will be closed for 1 day in the month of December.
